This is definitely French lavender! Perfectly wonderful- the lavender could be toned down in spots with some shading here and there. The roof needs a few wash strokes of middle tone to break up the difference between the sky and the walls of the house. (Needs a contrast.) Make a bluish shadow under the roof eave. Make the lavender in the back receding with a lighter less lively over wash to calm it down. Maybe using blue green to wash over it just a little?

Below is Julian Merrow-Smith's painting of these Cypress trees for a comparison to the artist painting you are using. Laur, yours look very similar, but without the brighter contrast he has.

I think you have an emotional bond to Cypress trees and the tall poplars and lived another life near them. The Cypress are in the southern parts of Europe and the tall Poplars in Germany and maybe elsewhere in Europe. The site of the Poplars in my train foto seems to have gotten you started on a roll of inspriration. What if I had not taken the foto in that very moment!! Oh the moments which change our lives so suddenly!
